Description

Delight in this moist and flavorful Apple Crumb Cake, topped with a luscious cinnamon apple drizzle that takes this dessert to the next level.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup apples, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, until just combined.
  6. Fold in the diced apples gently into the batter.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan, smoothing the top.
  8. In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, flour, and butter to make the crumb topping. Sprinkle it evenly over the batter.
  9. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. While the cake is baking, prepare the cinnamon apple drizzle by combining 1/2 cup of diced apples, 1/4 cup of sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook until the apples are tender, about 5-7 minutes.
  11. Once the cake is done, let it cool for 10 minutes in the pan before transferring it to a wire rack. Drizzle the cinnamon apple mixture over the top before serving.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider using a mix of different apple varieties.
  • You can substitute coconut oil for butter for a dairy-free version.
