- 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- Fresh chives, chopped for garnish
Instructions
- In a large pot, boil the cubed potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
- While the potatoes are cooking, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 2 minutes. Remove from heat.
- Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
- Add the sautéed garlic and butter mixture to the potatoes.
- Pour in the milk and add the sour cream. Mash until smooth and creamy.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Transfer the mashed potatoes to a serving dish and garnish with chopped chives.
