Ingredients

  • 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • Fresh chives, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, boil the cubed potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  2. While the potatoes are cooking, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 2 minutes. Remove from heat.
  3. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
  4. Add the sautéed garlic and butter mixture to the potatoes.
  5. Pour in the milk and add the sour cream. Mash until smooth and creamy.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
