Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound flank steak
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 cup black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Monterey Jack)
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1 avocado, sliced
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine olive oil, lime juice, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, and onion powder. Season with salt and pepper.
- Marinate the flank steak in the mixture for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the steak for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired doneness.
- Remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.
- Warm the flour tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave until pliable.
- Assemble the burritos by layering rice, black beans, sliced steak, cheese, tomatoes, avocado, and cilantro on each tortilla.
- Fold the sides of the tortilla in, then roll from the bottom to form a burrito.
- Serve with sour cream on the side and enjoy your homemade steak burrito!
Notes
- For added heat, consider adding jalapeños or hot sauce.
- Feel free to substitute chicken or tofu for the steak for a different protein option.
- Wrap burritos in aluminum foil for easy transport if taking them on the go.
