Deliciously cheesy and meaty, these Cheeseburger Pretzel Bombs are the ultimate snack or appetizer, combining the flavors of a classic cheeseburger with the fun of soft pretzel dough.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 can refrigerated pizza dough
  • 1/4 cup baking soda
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Coarse sea salt (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to the beef. Stir in the cheddar and cream cheese until melted and fully combined. Remove from heat.
  4. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface and cut it into 2-inch squares.
  5. Place a tablespoon of the beef and cheese mixture in the center of each dough square.
  6. Fold the corners of the dough over the filling and pinch to seal, forming a ball.
  7. In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water and the baking soda to a boil.
  8. Carefully place the pretzel bombs in the boiling water for 30 seconds, then remove them with a slotted spoon and place on a baking sheet.
  9. Brush the tops with the beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse sea salt.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicy kick, add some diced jalapeños to the beef mixture.
  • These can be made ahead of time and frozen before boiling; just add a few extra minutes to the baking time when cooking from frozen.
  • Serve with your favorite dipping sauces like ketchup or mustard.
