- 8 oz penne pasta
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, drained
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and ground turkey to the skillet. Cook until the turkey is browned and cooked through, about 7-10 minutes.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, chicken broth, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
- Reduce heat and stir in the heavy cream, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Add the cooked penne pasta to the skillet and mix well to combine.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top and allow it to melt, about 2 minutes.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes when cooking the turkey.
- Feel free to substitute ground turkey with ground chicken or beef.
- You can add vegetables like spinach or bell peppers for added nutrition.
