Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup whole milk, warmed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened (for filling)
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2 tbsp milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk and let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, sugar, eggs, and salt. Add the yeast mixture and stir well.
- Gradually add the flour, mixing until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Once risen, roll the dough out into a rectangle (about 16×12 inches) on a floured surface.
- Spread the softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon evenly.
- Roll the dough tightly from one long side to the other and slice into 12 equal pieces.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- While the rolls are baking, mix the powdered sugar and milk in a bowl to create the glaze.
- Once baked, remove the rolls from the oven and drizzle the glaze over them while still warm.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add chopped nuts to the filling.
- These rolls can be made ahead of time and frozen before baking.
- Try adding vanilla extract to the glaze for an additional flavor boost.
