Description

Indulge in these soft, gooey cinnamon rolls that are perfect for fall. With a sweet cinnamon filling and creamy glaze, they are a delightful treat for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk, warmed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened (for filling)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tbsp milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk and let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, sugar, eggs, and salt. Add the yeast mixture and stir well.
  3. Gradually add the flour, mixing until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Once risen, roll the dough out into a rectangle (about 16×12 inches) on a floured surface.
  6. Spread the softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon evenly.
  7. Roll the dough tightly from one long side to the other and slice into 12 equal pieces.
  8. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  10. While the rolls are baking, mix the powdered sugar and milk in a bowl to create the glaze.
  11. Once baked, remove the rolls from the oven and drizzle the glaze over them while still warm.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add chopped nuts to the filling.
  • These rolls can be made ahead of time and frozen before baking.
  • Try adding vanilla extract to the glaze for an additional flavor boost.
