Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In another bowl, combine the melted butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- In a small bowl, mix together the remaining 1/2 cup sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the batter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For an extra flavor twist, consider adding chocolate chips or nuts to the batter.
- This bread can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
