- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small bowl, combine flour and baking soda; set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until smooth.
- Add the vanilla extract and eggs to the butter mixture; beat until well combined.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Stir in the chocolate chips and nuts (if using).
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving enough space between each cookie.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 9-11 minutes, or until edges are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheets for 2 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
- For softer cookies, bake for the shorter time.
- You can substitute dark chocolate chips for a richer flavor.
