Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups fresh broccoli, chopped
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Steam the chopped broccoli until tender, about 5 minutes. Allow to cool slightly.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the steamed broccoli, cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Mix until well combined and form the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Fry the broccoli cheese balls in batches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
- Remove from the pan and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
- Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- For a healthier option, bake the balls at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes instead of frying.
- Feel free to add spices like paprika or chili flakes for an extra kick.
- These can be frozen before frying; just thaw and fry when ready to serve.
