Ingredients

  • 1 oz Earl Grey tea syrup
  • 3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz egg white (optional for froth)
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon twist, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Brew a strong cup of Earl Grey tea and let it cool.
  2. In a saucepan, combine equal parts sugar and the brewed tea to make the Earl Grey syrup. Heat gently until the sugar dissolves. Let cool.
  3. In a cocktail shaker, combine the gin, Earl Grey syrup, fresh lemon juice, and egg white (if using).
  4. Dry shake (without ice) for about 15 seconds to froth the egg white.
  5. Add ice to the shaker and shake again for another 15 seconds until well chilled.
  6. Strain the mixture into a chilled cocktail glass.
  7. Garnish with a twist of lemon peel.

Notes

  • For a non-alcoholic version, substitute gin with tonic water and reduce the syrup to taste.
