Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for filling)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together milk, pumpkin puree, melted butter, and egg until smooth.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, stirring until a dough forms.
  5. Roll the dough out on a floured surface into a rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
  6. Spread melted butter over the dough, then sprinkle with brown sugar and ground cinnamon.
  7. Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 12 equal pieces.
  8. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. While the rolls are baking, prepare the frosting by mixing cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
  10. Once the rolls are done, let them cool for a few minutes before drizzling with cream cheese frosting.

Notes

  • For a spicier flavor, add nutmeg or ginger to the filling.
  • These rolls can be made the night before and baked fresh in the morning.
