- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- While the shortcake is baking, prepare the whipped cream by beating heavy cream and powdered sugar in a bowl until soft peaks form.
- Once the shortcake is cool, cut it into bars and layer with sliced strawberries and whipped cream.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your refreshing summer treat!
Notes
- For an extra flavor, add a splash of almond extract to the whipped cream.
- These bars can be served with additional fresh strawberries on top.
