Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the anise extract and vanilla extract.
  6. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, and mix until just combined.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Remove cookies from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack.
  10. For the icing, mix the powdered sugar with water until smooth, then drizzle it over the cooled cookies and top with colored sprinkles.
