Description

This homemade crockpot peach butter is a sweet and creamy spread that captures the essence of summer peaches. Perfect on toast, pancakes, or as a filling for pastries.


Ingredients

  • 6 cups of peeled and chopped peaches
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the peaches by peeling and chopping them into small pieces.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped peaches, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and vanilla extract.
  3. Transfer the mixture into the crockpot and cover it with the lid.
  4. Cook on low for 8 hours, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  5. Once the peaches have softened and the mixture has thickened, use an immersion blender to puree the mixture until smooth.
  6. Continue to cook on low for an additional 2 hours to further thicken the peach butter.
  7. After cooking, let it cool slightly before transferring to sterilized jars for storage.
  8. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or process in a water bath for longer shelf life.

Notes

  • For a spicier flavor, add a pinch of ground cloves.
  • You can substitute honey for granulated sugar for a healthier option.
