Description

Indulge in the fall flavors of these irresistible salted caramel apple bars, featuring a buttery crust, spiced apple filling, and a rich salted caramel drizzle.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3 cups peeled and diced apples (such as Granny Smith)
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, butter, salt, baking powder, and cinnamon until crumbly.
  3. Press half of the mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form the crust.
  4. In another bowl, combine the diced apples with the remaining sugar and cinnamon, then spread the apple mixture evenly over the crust.
  5. Drizzle the caramel sauce over the apple layer, ensuring even coverage.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture over the top of the apples and caramel.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the apples are tender.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool for at least 15 minutes.
  9. Before serving, drizzle additional caramel sauce and sprinkle sea salt on top.
  10. Cut into bars and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a nutty flavor, add 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts or pecans to the crust mixture.
  • These bars can be served warm or at room temperature.
