Ingredients
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pound ground beef
Salt and black pepper, to taste
6 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
3 cups beef broth
2 cups milk
12 oz pasta (penne or rotini work well)
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
1. In a large pot or deep skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
2. Add garlic, onion powder, oregano, thyme, and red pepper flakes. Sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
3. Pour in beef broth and milk, then stir in the uncooked pasta.
4. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer uncovered, stirring frequently, for 12–15 minutes, or until pasta is tender and liquid is mostly absorbed.
5. Stir in heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and butter. Mix until the sauce is creamy and coats the pasta evenly.
6. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Let simmer for another 2–3 minutes to thicken.
7. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.
Notes
Use freshly grated Parmesan for best results. For added richness, stir in an extra tablespoon of butter at the end. You can swap in ground turkey or Italian sausage for variation. Serve with crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
