Description

These Quick & Delicious Apple Pie Bars are a perfect fall treat, combining the flavors of cinnamon-spiced apples with a buttery, crumbly crust. They’re easy to make and great for sharing!


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 cups apples, peeled and diced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • Extra cinnamon for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Add the melted butter and egg to the dry ingredients, mixing until crumbly.
  4. Press half of the mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form the crust.
  5. In another bowl, toss the diced apples with lemon juice, cornstarch, and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
  6. Spread the apple mixture evenly over the crust in the baking dish.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture over the apples.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the apples are tender.
  9. Allow to cool before cutting into bars and serving.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider mixing in some chopped nuts or raisins with the apple filling.
