- 2 cups diced apples (peeled and cored)
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
- 1 teaspoon sea salt, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the mixture, and beat until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the diced apples gently, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, drizzle the cookies with caramel sauce and sprinkle with sea salt before serving.
Notes
- For an extra touch, add chopped pecans or walnuts to the dough.
- These cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to one week.
- Feel free to use store-bought caramel sauce or make your own for a richer flavor.
