Description

How to make twisted pasta with honey garlic chicken and parmesan cream that delivers restaurant-quality comfort in under 30 minutes at home.

Ingredients

Scale

Pasta and Protein

  • 1 lb twisted pasta (fusilli or rotini)
  • 1.5 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Honey Garlic Sauce

  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes

Parmesan Cream Base

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 green onions, sliced thin

Instructions

  1. Cook Pasta: Bring large pot of salted water to boil. Cook twisted pasta according to package directions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water before draining completely.
  2. Season Chicken: Pat chicken pieces dry and season generously with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering and hot.
  3. Sear Chicken: Add seasoned chicken to hot skillet in single layer. Cook 4-5 minutes without moving, then flip and cook 3-4 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Make Sauce: Add butter, minced garlic, honey, soy sauce, vinegar, and red pepper flakes to chicken. Stir constantly for 1-2 minutes until fragrant and bubbling.
  5. Add Cream: Pour in heavy cream and cream cheese, whisking until smooth. Simmer 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened, then stir in parmesan cheese until melted.
  6. Combine Everything: Add drained pasta to skillet and toss with sauce. Add pasta water if needed for consistency. Remove from heat and stir in fresh parsley.
  7. Serve Hot: Divide among bowls and garnish with sliced green onions and extra parmesan. Serve immediately while hot and creamy for best texture and flavor.

Notes

  • Don’t skip reserving pasta water; the starch helps create silky sauce consistency.
  • Store leftovers in airtight container for up to 3 days in refrigerator.
  • Freshly grated parmesan melts much better than pre-shredded cheese.
  • Let cream cheese soften at room temperature for smooth sauce.
  • Serve immediately while hot for best creamy texture and flavor.
  • Add pasta water gradually to achieve perfect sauce consistency.
