  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 20 wonton wrappers
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat sesame oil over medium heat.
  2. Add minced garlic and ginger, sautéing for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add ground turkey, breaking it up with a spatula, and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir in shredded cabbage, carrots, soy sauce, salt, and pepper; cook for an additional 3-5 minutes until the veggies are tender.
  5. Remove the filling from heat and allow it to cool slightly.
  6. Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface and spoon about 2 tablespoons of the turkey filling into the center.
  7. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, then fold it over to create a triangle, pressing to seal. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
  8. Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat. Fry egg rolls in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  9. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
  10. Serve warm with dipping sauce of choice.

Notes

  • For a healthier option, consider baking the egg rolls at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes until crispy.
  • Customize the filling with your favorite vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms.
  • Serve with sweet chili sauce or soy sauce for dipping.
